The rehabilitation work on the Brescou islet requires razing this emblematic place of the commune, where many generations of Agathois have crossed paths.

This time, it's well and truly over. The Salle des Fêtes on rue Brescou, which was the Variétés cinema of the Ferraro brothers then a car garage before embracing its festive and associative function in the 1960s, is in fact being destroyed as part of the Brescou island construction site.

A heartbreak for generations of Agathois, even if it was still time to turn the page. Renovated in the 2010s, the room had become obsolete and poorly suited to today's uses. A new multipurpose room will open in 2025 right next to the Tournesol swimming pool.
