Burials one kilometer deep: but what is this cave closed to the public which dates back – 30,000 years ?

Discovered in September 2000 by speleologist Marc Delluc about thirty kilometers from Lascaux, the Cussac cave has remained secret to the general public for a quarter of a century. Yet there are many puzzles and works of art inside.

Located in the middle of the forest is the Cussac cave. No cars are allowed to approach it in order to avoid&nbsp ;pollute the place. Underground, a unique treasure in the world is under the protection of state services. Prehistorians call it "the Lascaux of engraving", indicates France 3.

A place forbidden to the public

The Cussac cave is a passage of more than a kilometer and a half, narrow and difficult to access, in which there are numerous engraved panels. Mammoth, horses, rhinoceroses. Female representations are even listed. Traces of color were also found along the gut, attesting that the men entered almost a kilometer deep, there are more than 30,000 people. nbsp;years.

Only a few scientists can enter this place, but are limited to ten at a time. Research only takes place in winter, because when temperatures rise, the C02 level in the cave starts to rise again and the air is no longer breathable.

Several graves found

Until now, the entire cavity has not been able to be examined by researchers. But the areas already explored are extremely surprising. There we find in particular burials framed by engraved panels, several hundred meters from the entrance. The bodies were placed there in pieces.
