Carers will meet at the Alès media library: what we know about this "rather avant-garde" day which will be dedicated to them...

A major event is being prepared at the MAD, combining festivities and workshops. It will take place on Tuesday, November 5. But, a few weeks earlier, a doctor appearing on the set of a television show will participate in a meeting at the IMT Mines Alès.

In the Gard, the Days of caregivers, these people who live and accompany a sick or disabled relative on a daily basis, will run from this Tuesday, September 17 to November 5. However, the time of Alès will occur precisely on November 5. This year, this day, conducted in partnership with various partners, the Department and the City, will not take place at “L'Instant répit”, which is the Maison des aidants on Place des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance, but at the Alphonse-Daudet media library (MAD), so that the event is both"festive and cultural".

Activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thus, a multitude of events are being set up for this key day, explains Christel Riquelme, territorial facilitator of "L’Instant répit", who is currently still working on developing a program that will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., non-stop. During the morning, wellness workshops will be offered to caregivers, including reflexology, nutrition and art therapy. At the same time, workshops will be held, mainly aimed at professionals and partners. They will focus, for example, on salaried caregivers or diet when it becomes problematic. “The idea is that there will be a collective restitution at the end of the morning”, explains Christel Riquelme. She then emphasizes that this year, the event is showing itself to be”60~em> “quite avant-garde”. It is indeed planned that the target audience, namely caregivers who will be able to come to the MAD without prior appointment, will be “skills-oriented”. Concretely, "a facilitator" will accompany each participant on their journey…

Inclusive skits, a choir and a dance school

The afternoon of November 5th will be more theatrical. “Sketches will be performed by children with disabilities or suffering from Dys” disorders, that is to say, more or less severe dysfunctions of cognitive functions, announces the territorial facilitator. "Their interventions will focus on differences and daily life." Then, the stage will be set for an inclusive choir and an inclusive dance show with "Le soleil dansant", a school in La Grand-Combe.

Doctor Vincent Valinducq will speak at the end of September

Before this big day, another event is planned. Indeed, on Friday, September 27, at 8 p.m. at IMT Mines Alès, Dr. Vincent Valinducq, general practitioner and health consultant for the TF1 morning television show “Bonjour”. He is also the author of the book “Je suis devenu le parent de mes parents”. For this meeting, inquire by phone at 04 28 66 02 00.
