DIRECT. Legislative 2024: instructions for the second round, unemployment insurance reform, rally against the RN… follow the situation

This Sunday, June 30, the French went to the polls to vote for the first round of the legislative elections. The RN obtained 34% of the votes; the NFP came in second with almost 29%; finally Renaissance, the presidential majority, displays a score of 20%.

The day after the RN's victory in the first round of the legislative elections, observers now have their eyes fixed on the second round. The extreme right could obtain an absolute majority. The left chose withdrawal for its candidates in third position. On the right, the Republicans do not give instructions. The presidential camp will withdraw, but not in all cases. Some rule out a withdrawal in the event of a triangular against LFi and the RN. After the results, Attal suspended the unemployment insurance reform. The RN and the NFP had promised to repeal this reform, which was to toughen the rights of job seekers.

What score for the ministers ?

Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, candidate from Hauts-de-Seine, obtained 43.85% of the votes this Sunday. The minister responsible for gender equality Aurore Bergé also comes out on top with 33.59% in Yvelines. In Seine-et-Marne, Frédéric Valletoux, Minister of Health, is still in the running for the second round with 33.73% of the votes, behind a candidate from the National gathering.

The Minister of Public Accounts Thomas Cazenave is also well placed before the second round in the 1st constituency of Gironde . He obtained 38.31% of the vote, ahead of left-wing candidate Céline Papin (34.23%) and RN candidate Bruno Paluteau (21%).
