Malcolm Théoleyre, sous-préfet de Lozère, a fait le tour de l’actualité lozérienne.

Le haut fonctionnaire est revenu sur les faits d’actualité récents.

La crise agricole

Agricultural anger was expressed at the end of 2023, before exploding in January: "Crisis management in the prefecture was less linked to protest activity local as well as to neighboring departments. Foreign trucks had to be diverted onto the secondary network, because the highways were blocked elsewhere. We took charge, doing a lot of logistics." Citing as an example the RN88 in Langogne, "we stored 400 heavy goods vehicles." Its role, safety management and the protection of farmers during demonstrations: "The climate was rather healthy."

Drug traffic

After the announcement of Emmanuel Macron on the big XXL clean-up of drug trafficking in the cities, the sub-prefect expresses:"Driving under the influence of drugs is increasing compared to driving under the influence of alcohol, in Lozère. This is very significant. This consumption puts people in danger. We have a few deal points but nothing to do with the big cities." Malcolm Théoleyre also has another source of concern:< em> "We are seeing an emergence of new drugs in rural areas such as cocaine or synthetic drugs, which come from extremely toxic trafficking in France. You have to be intractable. We have identified profiles, we set up operations. There are individuals arrested and in prison in Mende."

The arrival of the minister

Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture, visited Lozère, Friday March 22, 2024, on the occasion of World Water Day: "The minister had heard of the local projects, he chose our department. We deployed the security system and organized the visit." And far from the idea of only doing representation: "It’is a territory which has very specific particular. The fact that the minister comes to see the issues of sensitive grasslands and wolves is important."
