Drug and arms trafficking in Saze, gendarmes launched arrests

The Bagnols-sur-Cèze research brigade was able to identify six suspects in the context of drug trafficking.

The Nîmes public prosecutor's office revealed this Friday April 5 that the gendarmes had arrested men suspected of drug and arms trafficking. "Following the discovery in 2023 of weapons and narcotics in a vehicle known as  "nanny" stationed in the town of Saze (30), the investigations carried out by the Bagnols-sur-Cèze research brigade made it possible to identify six   implicated and to link them in the context of drug trafficking", specifies the public prosecutor of Nîmes in a press release made public this April 5 at 6 p.m. "On April 2, 2024, a legal operation was initiated and allowed the arrest of five of the six accused as well as the discovery, during searches, narcotics, cash and observation and surveillance materials. They were indicted as part of an opening of judicial information, on charges of participation in a criminal association, drug trafficking and failure to provide proof of resources", it was also specified by Cécile Gensac, the public prosecutor of Nîmes.

The prosecution adds that "The judge of freedoms and detention placed three of the accused in pre-trial detention and placed two under judicial supervision  implicated".

The prosecutor underlined "the positive result of the investigation carried out by the Bagnols-sur-Cèze Research Brigade, which allowed to identify and locate particularly mobile and discreet suspects".
