The Lozériens won 2 goals to 1 against Union sportive de la Cère.

Entente Nord Lozère (R2) started its season gently and won 2 to 1 in the second round of the Coupe de France, against Union sportive de la Cère (D3). A first trying meeting, this Sunday, September 1, 2024, against a very combative Cantal team, largely reinforced by new recruits.

From the start, the match looked complicated for the ENL. Only three minutes after the kick-off, the Lozériens lost a ball following a bad support and the injury of Sven Vohringer. The Vicois striker was found in space and opened the score (1-0).

After this goal, the visitors did not lower their heads and started moving forward again. Despite a rather difficult first half, particularly in midfield, with very wide lines and a lot of technical waste, unusual for the Lozériens, they managed to find the back of the net in the thirtieth minute of play through Paulin Bigot, well served by Bastien Ruat (1-1).

A better second half

The two teams return to the locker room with the score at 1-1. ENL struggled to get the game off to a good start but held on and managed to create opportunities. The second half resumed and the Enelistes changed their look. They were more consistent in their game, and took the upper hand over their opponents and managed to make them crack physically.

After a gross foul at the edge of the Vic area, the Lozériens obtained a well-placed free kick that benefited Romain Brunel. The latter sent the ball into the back of the net and allowed ENL to take the lead (1-2). The Lozériens are physically superior and manage their end of the match.

“It was a very special match, confided Lilian Condon at the end of the match, we knew what to expect. The first half was quite difficult but we knew how to manage at the end of the match. We managed to make them crack physically, that's where we see that the preparation has paid off.”
