The judoka from Castelnau-le-Lez, Blandine Pont (-48 kg), won her first fight this Thursday, April 25 for the opening of the European Judo Championships contested in Zagreb (Croatia).
It passes for Blandine Pont. The 25-year-old Montpellier, opposed to the Belgian Lois Petit, won her first fight of the day. A success achieved thanks to the penalty game, a symbol demonstrated by the Frenchwoman. Her next fight will be against the formidable Turkish Tugce Beder. A place in the semi-finals is at stake.
Two weeks in Japan
Hindered by a knee injury at the end of 2023, Blandine Pont went into exile for two weeks in Japan at the end of winter. A way for her to rub shoulders with Japanese fighters and relieve the frustration of her non-selection for the next Olympic Games.
