Excessive speed, drunk driving, refusal to comply…: a driver arrested in La Grande-Motte after hitting a car

The suspect, aged 26, was placed in police custody in the premises of the local gendarmerie brigade.

While on duty in La Grande-Motte, gendarmes from the local brigade surprised a motorist driving at high speed, this Sunday, April 21 around 5 a.m. in the morning.

Caught in pursuit, the suspect refused to obey orders to stop, preferring to accelerate even more. But not having a smooth driving style, at one point he hit a van that was parked.

Four heads of prevention

Continuing his journey as best he could, he however got cornered by the soldiers. Arrested, this driver, aged 26, was placed in police custody. Submitted to a blood alcohol test, it turned out to be positive.

He must therefore answer for excessive speed, refusal to comply, material accident and driving under the influence of an alcoholic state.
