The novillero from Salamanca performed two important faenas to cut two ears off his first Juan Pedro Domecq before losing two new trophies in the épée against the last. The Nîmes Nino Julian also lost a trophy due to failures with the steels during this morning novillada in Istres.

The announced prodigy from Salamanca who should carry the future of bullfighting struck a new blow during the morning novillada in Istres this Saturday morning in a well-filled arena. After debuting in this arena in a suit of lights last October, the day after his sixteenth birthday, Marco Perez (two ears and silence after notice)demonstrated his progress in a few months and it was a novillero with a keen sense of lidia who performed at the Palio.

The rewards fly for Nino Julian

Faced with a field of Juan Pedro Domecq, whose first two showed great qualities during the faenas, the novillada took place in two stages since the last novillos sinned by a lack of strength or even race. Nino Julian (hello after notice and silence after notice) confirmed his progress in the muleta seen recently during his success in Mauguio. After having shone during the first tercios with his usual ease and variety on the cape and banderillas, he initiated his faena with good, well-chiseled right-handed series and his performance increased in intensity on the left bank and series of deep and natural achieved against a novillo who was more willing to play on this horn. The promised reward vanished after three failures with the sword and difficulties with the descabello.

His second Juan Pedro Domecq notoriously lacked strength and the novillo stopped completely from the banderillas to take permanent refuge on the boards. The novillo had qualities but his lack of race made him flee the Nîmes muleta after the second pass of each series. A toro without options who did not offer Nino Julian the opportunity to shine despite his efforts and his never-failing will. The novillero once again experienced a series of failures with steel and left disappointed with his performance in Istres. If he has been making progress in his bullfight for several weeks, the Nîmes hopeful will have to quickly resolve his recurring problem at the time of the attack.

The maturity of Marco Perez

Despite a semester dressed in lights, Marco Perez already seems to know everything about bulls as he is lucid and knows how to adapt to the conditions of the bull to serve him the appropriate lidia. It must be said that despite his young age, he benefits from dream preparation and many French bullfighter matadors would dream of having bullied so many cattle at the campo. His two Juan Pedro Domecqs turned out to be distracted as they exited the toril and Juan Bautista's protégé was patient in lidding them before drawing beautiful veroniques before leading them to the horse.

Marco Perez started his first faena beating drums with two passes cambiadas in the center of the track and showed intelligence by leaving distance to the toro to take advantage of her generous gallop.and serve her with mid-height passes. After several right-handed series, the faena went to a crescendo during the series of natural where the toro gave in to the invitations of the novillero to charge from below. Slow sequences with lots of binder between passes. The Salmantain concluded his faena over the horns with redondos which capsized the audience. A beautiful sword gave him two undeniable ears.

The last novillo of the morning lacked strength, nobility and struggled to follow the muleta until the end of the pass at the beginning of the faena. Marco Perez then offered a lesson in technique and the meaning of lidia. At the start, he let the bull come from afar by leading it in a straight line and without letting go of his hand to give it morale and take advantage of its inertia. In a faena a mas, Jean-Baptiste Jalabert's protégé brought out his inner bravery and the bull revealed his qualities. The series on the left bank from below was marked by a beautiful depth and Marco Perez showed his courage and precision during the final in exposed terrain.

Two new ears were already promised to him but three defeats with the sword left the handkerchiefs in the president's pocket. This faena will, despite everything, have left its mark on the minds by the technique and maturity of the young prodigy who was going to leave a second time by the great door of the Palio arenas.
