Figure of the Montpellier bar, lawyer Alain Scheuer is no longer

Lawyer Alain Scheuer.

The Montpellier lawyer passed away this March 27 in the night. Appreciated, feared or abhorred, he had notably advised the former president of the Languedoc-Roàussilpon region Jacques Blanc.

He would have been 72 years old in June. This March 27, shortly after 4 a.m., lawyer Alain Scheuer died in his apartment at number 4 rue Pagézy. Carried away by a heart attack, after a vain attempt at resuscitation.

A figure in the bar of the last forty years (he was sworn in in 1975), he left it to enroll at that of Aveyron – department from which he came – a few years ago. "But he continued to practice here from time to time&quot ;, specifies his colleague Christian Dumont. Which continues further: "I always considered him a lawyer who had proven himself. He had his character but was a figure at the bar, without tongue in cheek and who, as a result, had some enmities in the courthouse. He regretted not having gone into politics and he was a man of the Republican right (he had been Frédéric Bort's deputy under the RN label in the 2017 legislative elections, Editor’s note) which has long been the advice of Jacques Blanc (former president of the Languedoc-Roussillon Region, Editor's note). He was a boy that I liked because he was courageous".

"When we were getting together
in his way…"

"We respected each other. But when we got in his way… He also didn't know the word brotherhood but he was a very brilliant guy. In 2013, we were opponents in 2013 for the 2014 runner-up and the 2005 presidential election", recalls President André Brunel.

"He was a figure, as they say, of our bar. We are all stunned, this is unexpected. I spent a morning with him last week. He is a well-known, tempestuous man who disappears", reacts the current president of the bar, Maxime Rosier.

"The bar loses one
of its last great princes"

"He was more than a friend. It’was a form of… Between a father and a brother with whom I worked on files. He was totally devoted to the profession. Few people knew of his incredible sensitivity and erudition in matters of classic literature, both African and modern art. He was filled with a revolt against injustice and submission and did not forget where he came from. Some of our colleagues have not appreciated his immense inner wealth. The bar loses one of its last great princes", delivers Me Stéphane Fernandez.

The funeral of Alain Scheuer will take place this April 2 at 2:30 p.m. in Saint-Côme-d’Olt. I subscribe to read more
