Handball: a terribly frustrating setback at home for Frontignan

Les troupes du FTHB se sont inclinées 31-32 ce vendredi 9 février, face à Massy.

Definitely, this Ile-de-France team is not successful for the Frontignanais. Beaten on the first leg, they lowered their flag again this Friday on their home court. In the most frustrating way possible. By getting stuck offensively for almost 45 minutes, by worrying about the refereeing decisions, by dreaming in the final moments…

When you don't want to…

We very quickly felt, at Ferrari, that the Muscatiers were not up for attack. After leading 5-4, they no longer found the solution and stumbled on a good Hakkar to suffer a real surge: 5-10. As a symbol of this lack of efficiency, on the counter, Camara hit the crossbar and the ball bounced just in front of the line… Between the posts, Hakkar and the ball losses, this first half time ended with a score of 13-19.

Hope, then disappointment

We were expecting, upon returning from the locker room, a certain offensive refocusing. It wasn's going to come straight away. Still looking for a solution, the FTHB was unable to reduce the gap (17-23). But, as is often the case, it was through defense and heart that Asier Antonio's men would change the situation. Camara scored on the counter (20-24), Diot repelled a penalty and Gaillard finally sounded the revolt with two consecutive goals (26-28), then imitated by Canton before adding another one himself (27- 28).

The heat rose when Leon equalized at 29-29, but the FTHB never managed to get ahead. A save from Peled and a final goal from Suretet marked the end of hopes (31-32).
