“I lost my temper, I took out my gun and I shot them”: the accused Marcone speaks out about the Plantiers killings

The trial of Valentin Marcone began this Wednesday, January 24. Midi Libre – Michael Esdourrubailh

Tried for two murders at the Plantiers sawmill on May 11, 2021, Valentin Marcone, 32, has been appearing before the Gard court since Wednesday, January 24.

Valentin Marcone has been on trial since Wednesday January 24 for a double intentional homicide with premeditation committed on May 11, 2021 in the commune of Plantiers, in the Cévennes.

Subject to paranoid tendencies, introverted and unsociable, he could not have tolerated his boss discussing his supposed dismissal with a colleague and would have shot them down.

He had heard his boss talking about his dismissal

What to remember from this first half-day ? The accused returned straight from the trial on the killing at the sawmill.

Pale green sweater, jeans, pale complexion, Valentin Marcone, 32, stands as stiff as a post in the dock. The three civil parties face him: Fiona and Camille, the two widows and Vincent, the witness to the facts spared by the killer. He reveals his identity.

"Marcone Valentin, I was an assistant sawyer and I lived in Les Plantiers" he declines .

"You have the option of remaining silent or answering our questions" President Christian Pasta tells him.

"I will answer your questions" assures the accused.

"What is your version ?" asks the court.

"Always the same from the beginning".

"Since when were you armed and equipped with a bulletproof vest ?".< /em>

"When I filed a complaint against the police friend of the former mayor" develops Marcone, engaged in industrial tribunal and then criminal proceedings against the former mayor of Plantiers where he worked as a roadman.

On the morning of the events, Valentin Marconne assures him, he heard Luc Teissonnière, his boss at the sawmill and Martial Guérin, an employee, talking about his dismissal. And can't stand being criticized for not saying hello.

"I never had a problem with him"

"I lost my temper, I said to Luc "you're kidding me", I took out my gun and shot them.

"Luc and Martial why did you kill them ?" asks Me Rémy Nougier civil party.

The accused responds: "It's been building up, when they gang up on me to get me fired… Y& #39;there's no logic, it's not okay to kill people for overtime."

"But Martial Guérin why did you kill him ?" insists Me Nougier.

"I never had a problem with him, if I had any resentment it would be against my boss".

The debates must take place until Monday.
