Millau and the community of communes choose economic attractiveness with the "France ruralities revitalization" zone

Les élus millavois viennent de voter le principe d’une zone dite "France ruralités revitalisation" qui va permettre des exonérations fiscales et sociales (notamment) aux nouvelles entreprises qui s’implantent sur le territoire.

The Millau Grands Causses community of communes is part of the rural revitalization zones (ZRR) system, which has become a “France ruralités revitalisation” zone since July 1st. Millau municipal officials have just voted to apply this new measure intended for new businesses setting up in its territory.

Concretely, companies already established before July 1, 2024 will continue to be exempt from property tax on built properties for a period of two years. This includes the creation or takeover of companies in difficulty located in ZRR. New exemptions are now planned for companies created or taken over between July 1, 2024 and December 31, 2029: exemption from property tax on built properties for buildings located in the France ruralités revitalisation zones. And this for a period of five years at 100%, then three years in a decreasing manner (75%, 50% and 25%).

“This exemption creates”attractiveness”

The beneficiary companies are both micro-entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises established in the zone. Whether they carry out industrial, commercial, craft or non-commercial professional activities. This includes the liberal professions, particularly in the health sector, and aims to combat medical deserts.

Emmanuelle Gazel, president of the community of communes and mayor of Millau, specifies that “the entire department of Aveyron, like twelve other departments, is identified as a France ruralités revitalisation zone. The possibility of exemption increases from two to five years at full rate. And three years at a decreasing rate. Obviously this is a loss of earnings. For Millau we have estimated the annual impact at 10,000 euros. It should be a little more for the community of communes. But this exemption creates attractiveness and therefore employment and wealth. This seems to us to be a priority.”
