Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Montpellier Chotard and his former partners Estève and Wahi selected by Thierry Henry for the Bleuets

Le milieu pailladin et ses deux anciens partenaires au MHSC ont été retenus dans la dernière liste de l'équipe de France U23 avant les Jeux Olympiques, mercredi 14 mars. 

Montpellier well represented in the French U23 team. Joris Chotard, current MHSC midfielder, as well as Maxime Estève and Elye Wahi, recently left from the Hérault club but trained at Grammont, were selected by coach Thierry Henry for the Bleuets, in what constitutes his last list before the football tournament of the Olympic Games. 

In addition to the usual hopes, Henry can draw from players born in 2001, as he did on Wednesday with Chotard and five other players. He will also be able to call on three players over 23 to make up his final list, announced in mid-May. 

Two friendly matches before the final list

In the meantime, the Olympic version of the Bleuets will play two friendly matches on the road to Paris 2024: against Ivory Coast, on March 22 in Châteauroux, and the United States , March 25 in Sochaux. 

During this gathering, Joris Chotard, MHSC midfielder but packaged for the PSG reception on Sunday, will meet up with Maxime Estève, who left Montpellier for Burnley (Premier League, England) last January. But also Elye Wahi, former La Paillade striker transferred to Lens in the summer of 2023. 

In addition to these three players, Henry retained Bradley Barcola (PSG), whom Didier Deschamps did not call up for the A, or Képhren Thuran Thuram (Nice). But he did not summon the Lyonnais Rayan Cherki.
