Une tenue unisexe très fonctionnelle et dans les tons choisis par les organisateurs des Jeux. Decathlon

Created by Decathlon, the official outfit of the Olympic volunteers was unveiled this Saturday at La Défense-Arena, on the occasion of the convention which brought them together.

The outfit of the 45,000 volunteers for the Olympic Games (July 26-August 11) and Paralympic Games (August 28 & September 8) of Paris was unveiled this Saturday March 23 in Paris on the occasion of a high mass which brought them together at La Défense-Arena.

Designed by the Decathlon brand, this outfit combines originality with a certain French tradition since it offers a revisited striped sailor top in turquoise blue as a basic swimsuit.

A trousseau of fifteen pieces, 53% "made in France"

The kit will include fifteen pieces for each volunteer: 4 swimsuits, 2 unzipable pants convertible into shorts, a vest/jacket, a bucket hat, 4 pairs of socks, a pair of shoes, a bag and a banana.

53% of the outfit is "made in France", namely the jerseys and socks. The rest will be produced mainly in Vietnam, in recycled polyester. The choice of this non-natural material was linked to the intended use, in particular rapid drying and the absence of ironing.

"An iconic and unisex garment"

"The development of this outfit represents 18 months of work" explained Joachim Roncin, design director of Paris-2024. We wanted something functional, which fit in with the ecosystem and the look of the Games but the ambition was to create something that had meaning."

D’where this choice of revisited sailor top. "It’is an iconic garment that we designed with three-quarter sleeves and which is especially wants a unisex outfit, explains Quentin Despagne, stylist at Décathlon. This matches both the spirit of our brand and the look of the Games."

The outfits will be the same for the Paralympic Games. Volunteers will have the opportunity to keep their keychain at the end of the Games.

30 % of volunteers under 25

Concerning the profile of the 45,000 volunteers (30,000 for the Olympics and 15,000 for the Paralympics) from 190 countries, gender parity is fully respected, indicate the organizers.
