Taxes: Hérault taxpayers have until May 30 to declare their income

La date limite pour déclarer ses revenus est fixée au 30 mai sur internet, mais au 21 mai pour les déclarations papier. Dans l'Hérault, un peu plus de 730 000 foyers fiscaux sont concernés. 

Hérault taxpayers have until May 30 to declare their 2023 income. This deadline is valid for online declarations which currently represent 88.60% of procedures. The deadline for “paper” declarations is reduced to May 21. Notices will then be available from July 24 until October 2. 

40% of households taxed in Hérault

In 2023, Hérault was home to 729,295 tax households, of which 292,443 were taxed, or around 40%. "For this 2024 campaign, there are no changes compared to last year. But the first message we want to send is to encourage taxpayers to report their change of address" insists Anne-Marie Audureau, director of trades at the departmental public finance department.

The second point of vigilance of the tax administration concerns the obligation, for owners to "declare the occupation of their real estate, whatever the local". Anne-Marie Audureau promises "special intervention against owners who have intentions of fraud".

A product worth just over a billion in 2023

In 2023, several dozen files considered fraudulent – linked in particular to energy renovation expenses – were thus transmitted to the public prosecutor's office but "85% of owners declared the occupation of their property" underline the services tax.

For this campaign, the few new features concern the improvement of « online course » to correct your social data, declare childcare costs with several beneficiaries or dependents. 

As every year, a specific information system is open with a national number (0809 401 401) and a departmental system (0971 754 367) allowing you to obtain a telephone appointment within 48 h. 

In 2023, income tax revenue amounted to just over one billion euros in Hérault.
