The Cordées de la Réussite help open up the fields of possibilities regarding the guidance of young people

Seven middle school students from the André Chanson establishment in Meyrueis and five high school students from the Jean-Antoine Chaptal establishment met at the Mende university branch, Tuesday June 4, 2024, to present the projects carried out by all the learners as part of the Cordées de la Réussite.

As part of the Cordées de la Réussite, a system supported by National Education, twelve students (five from the André Chanson middle school in Meyrueis and seven from the Jean-Antoine Chaptal high school) representing their classes gathered at the ;rsquo;university branch of Mende, this Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to present their school projects carried out throughout the year. "These achievements make it possible to create a link between secondary school students and those in higher education to give meaning to the orientation paths and the orientation program ;avenir, explains Jean Moutouh, principal of the André Chanson college, in Meyrueis. The Cordées de la Réussite are also there to fight against all forms of self-censorship. "

Two themes: digital and tourism

This system aims to open up the fields of possibilities in terms of guidance and to restore self-esteem to students in difficulty."Today, two themes are being addressed: orienting oneself and appropriating knowledge with digital technology (SOAN); tourism and hospitality", explains Jean Moutouh. It’s on these last two themes that all the students had to rely on to create different projects.

Between "Live my life as a student", the presentation of doctoral student paths to college students or even the creation of a video on Meyrueis and the south of Lozère, learners from all school levels worked collaboratively. This last action allowed them to mix the two themes, while discovering new professions.

The choice of orientation

Students from André Chanson middle school and Jean-Antoine Chaptal high school had the opportunity to visit higher education establishments such as the Institute of Technological Education ( IUT) of Béziers. This approach won over Linette and Léa, in second grade. "I had an idea of ​​my choice of orientation. I would like to work in marketing and later specialize in automobiles. From now on, I know that the IUT of Béziers offers a course that corresponds to my choice of future", says the first high school student. His friend adds: "Considering doing my studies in this establishment is one of my ideas, because I know that it offers a course commerce."

To support the importance of choosing your orientation carefully, Principal Jean Moutouh enthusiastically declares: "There is no good or bad jobs or good or bad directions. If it is chosen, it's the right one!"
