The tenth Black Bee Festival celebrates the first chapter of a League for the respect of life

Yves Elie, beekeeper and founder of the Bee Rights League. Midi Libre – STEPHANE BARBIER

In Pont-de-Montvert, on July 6 and 7, the 10th edition sees the creation of an open network, the " Bee Rights League, uniting supporters of a festive, gourmet ecology committed to animal and plant well-being.

In order to image the concept of creating a Bee Rights League, Yves Elie, beekeeper and president of the association L’ bee tree, draws from what it knows best: the hive.
" In it, bees coexist and work for the common good beyond their differences. There are between 15 and 20 siblings and each with different behavior. Nevertheless, they coexist for the common goal: the prosperity of the hive…hellip; "
So after having created in 2008 the association L’arbre auxbees but " too specialized while the erosion of biodiversity concerns everyone "  the League of Bee Rights created on the occasion of this tenth edition marks a new form of convergence.

The ancients lived in harmony with the living and the trunk apiaries are a demonstration of this

A league or network open to all, without subscription and in "open source", of beekeepers, citizens, restaurateurs… Women and men whose concern for coherence leads to this moderation, this good living in intelligence with the living, whatever its form, plant or animal, in order to build the future in a peaceful and respectful coexistence between species.
“The ancients lived in osmosis with the living and the trunk hives are proof of this. This peasant tradition embodies an intimate balance with nature. They did not put pressure on the hives while developing efficient agriculture to survive. The modern agricultural system encourages exhaustion but there is a third way. ”  A third way designated under the term of domiciled species. Different from the status of wild or domestic, this intermediate level determines a socialization relationship between animals and humans in a virtuous relationship.
Virtues among which the members of the association rank gastronomy by inviting dozens of exhibitors, as many brilliant disciples of the famous maxim of Brillant-Savarin: ” Tell me what you eat, I will tell you what you are?”
Beekeepers, winegrowers, artisans, from Lozère, Gard, Lot, Bouches-du-Rhône, all gathered around a simple and essential notion: taste to eat well or drink well nourishes that of living well…
"  Gastronomy is a fundamental and universal right that founds pleasure and therefore the happiness of living" says Yves Elie.
