This is the most important match in the short history of the Montpellier Business School (MBS) football team! This Saturday, March 9, the Héraultais will meet in Chasse-sur-Rhône, near Lyon, for the regional conference finals of the 12th Saint-Gobain Football Cup.

For one day, 20 teams, 10 women's and 10 men's including MBS, will compete for victory in two separate tournaments, one reserved for engineering schools and the ;rsquo;other reserved for higher business schools.

"This is the first time in four or five years of existence that our team has reached this level", explains Quentin Huyghues-Beaufond, head of ;#39;team and player.

The Montpellier residents made it through the first round of this Coupe de France des grandes écoles by finishing second in a group of three. "We lost 1-0 against Marseille before winning 3-0 against Toulouse."

MBS played the second round against Sophia-Antipolis, in Nice. Trailing 1-0 at the break, the team found the resources to turn the tide 3-1.

"The team has raised its level"

"Our start to the season has not been very good, it must be said that we have work-study students who cannot always train, explains the head of the team. But when the stakes became high, the team raised its level.

This Saturday, the Montpellier residents will be far from being favorites. "HEC Paris is a regular at the event and scores a lot of goals, but we have nothing to lose", testifies Quentin.

The latter knows the recipe to qualify. Last year, he led the MBS women's team, which had just been created that season, to the national final of this event!

In the event of a victory this Saturday, the Montpellier residents would also qualify for the Coupes de France finals, from May 3 to 5, within the legendary Clairefontaine National Center. They would also benefit from recruitment opportunities within the Saint-Gobain Group.
