“Underage girls are more easily influenced”: he trapped his victims on Snapchat, a young man convicted pedophile

A 27-year-old young man was sentenced this Tuesday, April 9, 2024 to seven years of criminal imprisonment for having sexually abused around forty young girls aged 10 to 16.

Originally from Kontich in the province of Antwerp in Belgium, the young man had the habit of trapping his young victims on the Snapchat messaging application.

Victims barely ten years old

Aged 27, Jens H. generally asked them to play with him and send him naked photos of themselves, while maintaining a certain amount of pressure on the young teenage girls. In 2021, he raped a fourteen-year-old girl in his car in the parking lot of the juvenile institution where she was staying. The complaint filed by the victim during the summer of 2021 led to the arrest of Jens H.

But his stay in prison was short-lived. Released a month later under electronic surveillance, the young pedophile man resumed his sordid activities on Snapchat.

A risk of recurrence too great

His victims were very young, some barely ten years old. During a hearing, the defendant denied being a pedophile and declared that underage girls are simply more easily influenced.

If Jens H. has since followed therapy, the Antwerp criminal court sentenced him to seven years in prison, believing that the risk of recurrence is too great.

The young man was also ordered to pay several tens of thousands of euros in provisional damages to his victims, according to 7sur7. Having failed to appear at his hearing, his immediate arrest was ordered by the court.
