American Noah Lyles won the 100m race at the Olympic Games this Sunday, August 4, after a crazy sprint.
They are all within twelve hundredths of a second of each other. It's historic. What a 100m final! And it was the American Noah Lyles in a handkerchief of the handkerchief, who won the first title for the United States in the premier discipline since 2004 and the coronation of Justin Gatlin.

100m the fastest in history
Lyles finished in the same time as the Jamaican Kishane Thompson (9"79). It was decided by… five thousandths. American Fred Kerley completed the podium in 9"81. The reigning Olympic champion, Italian Marcell Jacobs, finished 5th in 9"85.
This 100m Paris 2024 edition is the fastest of all time. The 8th is Jamaican and finishes in 9"91.
