Vincent Labrune, président de la LFP, est en charge de la négociation des droits télés.

Vincent Labrune, the president of the Professional Football League, heard Wednesday by the Senate commission of inquiry into the financialization of French football, confirmed that his remuneration had been increased to 1.2 million d’ ;gross annual euros, an amount validated by its board of directors.

"The board of directors of the League, in this case the club presidents, decided to increase my remuneration to 1.2& ;nbsp;million euros gross annually, considering the investment that had been mine, the responsibilities that are mine and the benchmark of the European market", has advanced Labrune before the senators.

Detailing before the commission the agreement which links the LFP to CVC, a Luxembourg investment fund which brought 1.5 billion to French professional football compared to around 13 billion ;% of his commercial revenue, Vincent Labrune explained on the other hand that his remuneration had not been directly increased by the newly created commercial company, nor by CVC.

A salary set by the League

Last Thursday, Jean-Christophe Germani and Edouard Conques, the two directors of CVC in France, were found wanting before this same commission by asserting that Labrune, president of the commercial company – of which CVC is a shareholder –, was not paid for this function, while the president of the commission, Senator Michel Savin, presented them with a document indicating that the commercial company took charge of 50 % of Vincent Labrune's salary.

"I need to make one clarification: I am president of the LFP. It is the LFP, a legal entity, which is president of LFP Media. My remuneration is borne entirely and exclusively by the LFP. It is set and validated by the board of directors", Labrune explained.

Present at his side, Arnaud Rouger, the general director of the LFP, specified that it would be impossible for the League not to re-invoice the services provided to the commercial company, because this would constitute a abnormal act of management, non-compliant in the eyes of the tax administration.
