War in Gaza: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu targeted by arrest warrant for war crimes and crimes against humanity

This Monday, May 20, 2024, an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was issued by the ICC.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) said on Monday it had issued an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu’s criminal responsibility

"Based on the evidence collected and reviewed by my office, I have reasonable grounds to believe that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of ;rsquo;Israel, and Yoav Gallant, the Minister of Defense of Israel, bear criminal responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the territory of the State of Palestine (in the Gaza Strip ) from at least October 8, 2023", the ICC, which sits in The Hague, said in a statement.
