“We pay subscriptions for nothing!” : users of the Tango bus network on strike share their anger

Au-delà de la grève qui impacte le réseau de bus, les usagers déplorent une dégradation du service et s'inquiètent pour l'avenir. MIKAËL ANISSET

The strike movement of employees of the Tango bus network has intensified since Monday January 15 with four hours of walkouts and very impacted urban lines. Which puts users' nerves to the test.

Since Monday, January 15, the strike movement of employees of the Tango public transport network has moved up a gear with two periods of two-hour walkouts in the morning and at the end of the day. afternoon.

The inter-union is still asking the Agglo for guarantees on future working conditions and services. "We are continuing this Tuesday, January 16, with the walkouts from 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., that's a certainty", announced Nasser Mohamedi (CFDT) this Monday evening. No urban line buses will run in these slots.

Nîmes Métropole, take an example from Montpellier!

Enough to test the patience of users, who do not hesitate to deplore a slow deterioration of services on social networks.

The changes to the lines last year and the future public service delegation contract applied from July 1st should improve the situation. But for users, this is not yet the case, especially during times of strike.

On the Facebook page of Tango, a network managed by the operator Transdev whose contract ends on June 30, comments are multiplying. Here, there are no laudatory reactions: "We pay the subscriptions for nothing. Deplorable service, already that the working hours are horrible for people who work or even young apprentices. Seriously, Nîmes Métropole, go take an example from Montpellier, says Daysy Jacques. "The people who work at the CHU and who only have T2, what do they do ? Give us line 5", demands Angélique.

The future contract worries

Some share their delicate daily life during rush hours, particularly when they have to arrive on time at school or at work, leaving their car at the park and ride but without having the trambus pass… "Thank you! It was already complicated to come to work now, it will be complicated to leave, notes Nathalie. Others see it, with irony, as advantages, because it allows for long walks.

Bruno, for his part, is in despair at the absence of "a minimum service for all subscribers, for the train as well as for the bus". But it’s not just on Tango’s Facebook page that travelers express their exasperation.

Subcontracting

The Tango pour tous collective, through the voice of Michel Perfettini, shares the concerns of striking employees “about this future contract which provides 8M€ less compared to the previous one, which means that it will cut back on frequencies. There will be fewer services, which is not acceptable. The Agglo needs to provide details."

For his part, Michel Brouat also wants to raise awareness about the deterioration of the service for people with reduced mobility who choose the bus in Nîmes: "We are of course penalized by the strike. But, on the network, it's scary! There is a lot of subcontracting, which creates a mess on lines 11 and 13 for example. Despite our complaints, we are not being heard even though line 5 has been taken away from us. use to convince users from next summer.

Impacted urban lines

Urban lines of the Tango network will not run from Tuesday January 16 to Friday January 19 from 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. #39;is T1, T2, T3, T4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16. More practical information on tangobus.fr.
