Wild dumps, clearing, fiber... at the AGM of the neighborhood committee

Les élus face aux habitants du quartier de Russan.

Several elected officials made the trip for the general meeting of the neighborhood committee.

The annual general meeting of the Russan-Terres de Rouvière neighborhood committee was held in the Edmonde-Gleize room in front of members who came in large numbers. After the usual thanks and having welcomed the presence of the city's elected officials, namely Julien Plantier, first deputy delegate for town planning, Véronique Gardeur Bancel, delegate for education and educational success, Xavier Douais, delegate for tourism, Olivier Bonné, delegate for monitoring urban renovation, and finally Chantal May, representing the mayor, delegate for greening, parks and gardens, Bernard Astier, the president of the committee, in detail and jointly with the secretary and treasurer , the various activity reports, moral and financial, which were unanimously approved.

During reading the reports, the president recalled the work and developments carried out for the beautification and safety of the neighborhood, then thanked the work accomplished by the team around him, before to recall the various subjects on the agenda such as roads, deployment of fiber, clearing of undeveloped land, household waste, disposal of green waste, security in the face of an increase in burglaries and the traffic which intensifies.

All of these subjects and the various concerns of residents were an opportunity for them to solicit and question elected officials, who responded, as they should, to all expectations. Thus Julien Plantier specified that a city-wide renovation program was underway: "We are trying to act in the most efficient way possible so that all sectors are processed." To the question asked by several local residents, " how to eradicate the wild deposits in proximity of glass containers and sanction the offenders ?", the first deputy explains that the difficulty is precisely to catch them in the act and recalls the possibility of taking photos and send them to the City of Nîmes application.

Finally, Véronique Gardeur Bancel recalls that, from September 1, 2024, buses will be free for seniors over 70 and people with reduced mobility.
