Une série d’ateliers est attendue, cette semaine, sur deux sites du nord du Gard.

This is a first in Gard: operation Gaffofeu 30. This aims to strengthen the culture of risk on forest fires and vegetation in the department and mobilizes State services, public operators, communities and various associations, in collaboration with the French Institute of Major Risks and Environmental Protection Trainers (Iffo -RME). Thus, to establish good behavior and reduce the vulnerability of populations, fun and educational workshops, debates and exchanges are planned. However, this preventive information action, described as "large-scale", aimed at the general public and schools, takes place this week.

Children from the leisure centers of Alès Agglomération

In the Cévennes, two towns were selected. Gaffofeu will be held this Wednesday, May 22, in Alès, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Mas Sanier, in the presence of 70 children from leisure centers in the Agglomeration. In the morning, the testimony of René Doussière, former mayor of Portes and confronted with fire in 1985, and the play Interactive, by the Antagonie company, are expected. Six workshops will follow in the afternoon: presentation of materials and emergency numbers, with the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis), gestures that save with the Cross Red, prevention with Maif, risk display with Iffo-RME and games with Alès Agglo.

Schools, from CM1 to 5th grade

Then, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May, the operation will take place in La Grand-Combe, on Place Jean-Jaurès or in the Denis-Aigon room, in 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fourteen workshops will be offered to students from CM1 to 5th grade. The next day, Gaffofeu will take up residence in Nîmes.
