WTT China Smash: Félix Lebrun Quietly Qualifies for the Round of 16 and Continues His Competition

Félix Lebrun s’est tranquillement qualifié pour les huitièmes de finale du WTT China Smash à Pékin, grâce à sa victoire 3-0 contre l’Australien Finn Luu, mardi 1er octobre.

Fourteen minutes and then he's gone. The Montpellier native didn't beat around the bush to qualify for the round of 16 of the WTT China Smash, one of the most prestigious tournaments on the world table tennis circuit.

Opposed to the world number 43 in the round of 16, the Australian Finn Luu, Félix Lebrun calmly won three sets to nothing, with a score of 11-5, 11-4 and 11-2. The bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics will face the winner of the match between China's Xiang (68th) Peng and Egypt's Omar Assar (18th).

In doubles with his brother Alexis on Wednesday

Before that, Félix Lebrun will play with his brother Alexis on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m. in the round of 16 of the doubles tournament. The Montpellier brothers, ranked 4th in the world in doubles, will face the Slovak Lubomir Pistej and the Swede Anton Kallberg who are playing together for the first time in Beijing.

In singles, Alexis Lebrun lost on Monday against the Brazilian Hugo Calderano (3rd in the world) in his first match in this WTT China Smash, 3 to 0 (7-11, 9-11, 11-13).
