Le docteur Alain Kind Midi Libre – DR

Since 2023, Alain Kind has put down his stethoscope and settled in the town of Saint-Maximin. But his passion took over. He has just taken over the office of Dr Martine Ferré, located in Saint-Siffret.

During a visit to one of his friends in Uzès in 2023, Doctor Alain Kind discovers and appreciates the region and decides to settle down in Saint Maximin, after having put down his stethoscope for some time. But his passion took over again.

A vocation, a passion

Alain Kind comes from a family of five doctors, both of his parents are former department heads at Public Assistance. Alain gives in to the desire to pick up his stethoscope again, driven by a passion for medical practice and his commitment to patients. "I felt responsible for maintaining continuity of care and the need not to leave patients without medical expertise.

"Being a doctor is not a job, but a vocation, a passion, I don't have the impression of working. I don't want to stop because I love it, explains Alain Kind. Upon obtaining his diploma, at the Faculty of Medicine of Paris in 1977. He worked in his office near Le Mans until 2016.

Chief firefighter doctor

At the same time, he serves as chief fire doctor and emergency doctor at Samu de la Sarthe. At this time, Alain developed a victim extraction system making it possible to immobilize the spine during road and other accidents with the aim of optimizing and securing all manipulations. This technique is now widespread throughout the world.

In 2003, he became Chief Medical Officer of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest as well as a doctor with the International Automobile Federation (FIA). He is responsible, among other things, for organizing rescue on the track and the safety of spectators at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as the French Moto Grand Prix, where he is responsible for a team of 80 people (doctors, first aiders, nurses), before retiring.

A smooth handover
