Arthur Cazaux (83rd in the world) lost in the second round of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai against Andrey Rublev (5th) 4-6, 4-6, without having been ridiculous against a Russian who was simply above Wednesday February 28.

The young 21-year-old from Montpellier will not have to be ashamed of his performance against a player in the top 5 in the world. But Andrey Rublev was simply too strong for Arthur Cazaux to qualify for his first quarter-final on the ATP circuit.

But the Frenchman will be able to retain a lot of positives from this tournament in Dubai, where he managed to get out of qualifying by winning his two matches in order to qualify for the first time in a table final ATP 500.

Place in Indian Wells

First round which he even won with seriousness and mastery against the 26th in the world, the Italian Lorenzo Musetti (6-4, 7-6 [2]) on Tuesday. A course allowing him to provisionally reach his best ranking, at 75th place in the world.

The rest promises to be just as enticing for Cazaux who will fly directly to the United States to compete in the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells. The Montpellier player might not even have to go through the qualifications, since he is only three places away from entering the final table.
