"Parade", la bande-son de nos souvenirs, sortira cette semaine en streaming.

The song “Parade”, the signature song of the 2024 Olympic Games composed by Victor Le Masne, their music director, will arrive on platforms at midnight on Thursday, he announced on Tuesday, promising the subsequent release of other pieces from the Games soundtrack.

This title, unveiled during the arrival of the Olympic flame in Marseille on May 8, was broadcast throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games, particularly during the torch relays and on the occasion of the medal presentations to the athletes. It is also the melody that launched the river parade on the Seine, during the opening ceremony on July 26 in Paris.

Official release Thursday

It starts with a light, pop tune, with violins, then builds up with a symphony orchestra, moves to the epic register with choirs, to become an electro loop typical of the French Touch, with a festive coloring.

Starting Thursday, "Parade" will be available on the Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Tidal, Qobuz platforms, in two versions, one full (11 minutes) and one short (5 min 40), specified Victor Le Masne who says he is "very happy". In the first, we feel “all the emotional registers” wanted, “the grandeur”, “the power”, “the jubilation”, “the fever of sport” and “a music that unites”.

The second, a sort of “condensed”,“I wanted to give it to everyone so that we could dance to it more easily,” he explained. It will be "the soundtrack of our memories", hopes the director of music for the Olympics, according to whom "pop culture has invited itself to these Games".

Saturday's parade on the Champs-Elysées transformed into a giant concert

He who also composed other pieces heard during the opening and closing ceremonies has announced "a complete album" of his Olympic compositions, at a date yet to be announced. “On the tracks with other artists (Aya Nakamura, Lady Gaga, Céline Dion, Kavinsky and Angèle…), I'm not sure that everything can come out, it's a little more complicated" but we “are working on it", he continued.

Asked about the athletes' parade planned for Saturday on the Champs-Elysées, Victor Le Masne promised “a big concert with artists". He will also be the musical director. This is not the first song from the Olympics to be released on platforms: since August 30, the song played by the metal band Gojira with the opera singer Marina Viotti during the opening ceremony has been available for streaming.
