Salaries, aid, pensions… delays in payments for the month of May are to be expected

The European interbank system will be closed on May 1 due to Labor Day. Salaries, social benefits and pensions will therefore be paid with a 24-hour delay.

The 1st day of next month will be a Wednesday, a public holiday in France and throughout Europe, because it coincides with Labor Day. The European interbank system (named 12) will therefore be closed.

A time lag of 24 hours

Workers who receive their remuneration on the 1st of the month will have to wait 24 hours since salaries will be paid on Thursday, May 2.

With regard to the various social and family benefits paid by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF), a time difference of 24 hours will also be recorded. CAF pays this aid on the 5th of each month. But May 5 will fall on a Sunday. Payments will therefore be made on the 6th of the month.

Retirement pensions
