The early municipal election of Pont-Saint-Esprit will take place on April 28 and May 5, 2024

Les dates de l'élection municipale partielle intégrale de Pont-Saint-Esprit ont été arrêtées. Le premier tour aura lieu le 28 avril et le second tour le 5 mai 2024.

The decree setting the dates for the full and community partial municipal election of Pont-Saint-Esprit was published Thursday March 14 on the website of the Gard prefecture.  

The first round will take place on April 28, the second round on May 5, 2024.

This early election is organized following waves of resignations of municipal councilors from the majority and the opposition within the Pont municipal council -Holy Spirit. The first episode of these political events was the decision of Mayor Claire Lapeyronie to withdraw their delegations from elected officials in her majority at the end of October 2023. 

Claire Lapeyronie declared that she is running again and will be head of the list for this new municipal election.

Two candidates have already declared themselves against the outgoing mayor

Facing her have already declared themselves the National Rally candidate Emmanuel Le Pargneux – former parliamentary attaché of the deputy for the 4th constituency of Gard Pierre Meurin who will himself be same candidate in third position on the RN list -, and Gérome Bouvier, former civil servant at the town hall of Pont-Saint-Esprit, who launches with a list that he defines as ;"apolitical and without labels".

Spiripontain voters will have to elect thirty-three municipal councilors increased by at most two additional candidates, and ten community councilors increased by two additional candidates representing the commune in the agglomeration of Rhone Gard.& nbsp; 

Deadlines for submitting a list

The lists of candidates must be submitted to the Gard prefecture on Thursday 4, Friday 5, Monday 8, Tuesday 9, Wednesday 10 April 2024 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the first round; Monday, April 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the second round.
