The Montpellier group Éléments raises 24 million euros for six photovoltaic projects in Occitanie

Le projet du groupe Eléments Mitra 2, dans le Gard, sera développé avec le soutien du Crédit Agricole. Mitra 2, son extension, est en cours de construction.

The independent producer of decarbonized electricity through exclusively “greenfield” development has finalized a fundraising with Crédit Agricole, intended for projects with a total capacity of 22 MWc.

Independent producer of decarbonized electricity through exclusively “greenfield” development, the Montpellier-based group Éléments announces the raising of 24 million euros in project financing from the Crédit Agricole group, one of its historic partners.

This fundraising will allow it to carry out six projects for the construction and operation of photovoltaic parks on the ground and in shade houses in Occitanie (Gard, Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales, Tarn) and in Gironde. "These parks will produce a total of 30 GWh per year, or the equivalent of the annual consumption of 6 750 homes", specifies the group in a press release.

Its model is based on a participatory approach

Created around ten years ago, Éléments has set itself the goal of "providing carbon-free electricity" from projects that she develops herself. Its model is based on a participatory approach to development: "participatory investment, commitment of municipalities and consultation of local residents".

The financing obtained from the Crédit Agricole group, with participation from its regional bank Crédit Agricole du Languedoc, launches the development of a "first cluster" of photovoltaic parks, construction sites for which were launched in February 2024. Their commissioning is scheduled between July 2024 and January 2025.

"Accelerating the implementation of renewable energies"

"We are very pleased to conclude this project financing with one of our historic partners. This is the first financing of Elements project clusters, which allows the construction of 6 power plants and thus our participation in the supply of carbon-free energy", specifies Pierre-Alexandre Cichostepski, its founder.

For Christine Delamarre, deputy general director of Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies, "this financing will make it possible to accelerate the implementation of renewable energies in the territories that CAT & E supports on a daily basis".

A capital increase of 50 million euros

The Montpellier group intends to continue its development, with the objective of 1GW "in operation in 2030". It already has several offices in France: Montpellier, Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Bordeaux and Guadeloupe. It is also developing abroad with a presence in Finland, Italy, Germany and the Caribbean area.

At the end of November 2023, Elements had already carried out a capital increase of 50 million euros. A record fundraising, the largest fundraising in Occitanie in 2023, from its historic shareholder Noria, joined by BPI France.
