From Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September, the Vendanges feria will mark the end of the summer festivities in Nîmes. In the bullring, the public expects to experience emotions with events on the track such as the farewell of rejoneador Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza during a mixed bullfight, the one against six of Daniel Luque, the alternative of Lalo de Maria and the confirmation of that of Clemente, without forgetting the two performances of Sébastien Castella.

In terms of entertainment, the City relies on the classics: equestrian show, bullfighting, folk groups, abrivados (three), but also a roussataïo to open the feria, music and of course the bodegas.

Will the essential Simon Casas once again win the public service delegation of the arenas?? The City should decide in mid-October for a DSP that will begin on January 1, 2025 and for a period of three years. Simon Casas had indicated during the presentation of the Pentecost posters his desire to renew his team with the return of Robert Pilès and the arrival of Denis Allegrini, former president of the UMIH du Gard.

Edeis continues its management of Roman monuments

The management of Roman monuments has been entrusted to Edeis, already a delegate and whose contract is renewed from November 1st. Midi Libre – M. A.

The choice had been made before the summer. Edeis, the current delegate of the city's Roman monuments, has been chosen again to continue the adventure. The public service delegation will thus be renewed from November 1st. In addition to managing the arenas, the Maison Carrée, the Magne Tower, organizing the Roman Days and the August show in the arenas, Edeis will have a small new feature: renovating and transforming the Maison Saurel in the Jardins de la Fontaine into a place for catering and cultural offerings.

The Sports Hall delivered

This will be one of the highlights of the year for around ten sports associations in Nîmes. Indeed, the Sports Hall should open, if all goes well, from the end of September. In particular, the equipment still needs to be installed and the interior fittings completed. The City does not want to leave anything to chance for this sports facility located in the south of Nîmes, right next to the Antonins stadium.

This fall, we will also be paying attention to the fate of the Costières stadium since all the associations occupying the halls will have to leave them by this fall. Some will go to the new Création space opposite the Philippe Lamour high school from the beginning of September.

The return of elected officials to the two councils

The back-to-school municipal council will be held in Nîmes on Saturday, September 28, at 8 a.m. Midi Libre – MiKAEL ANISSET

The start of the school year will also concern elected officials from Nîmes and the Agglomeration with the Nîmes Métropole community council meetings on Monday, September 23 at 6 p.m., then on Saturday, September 28, at 8 a.m., the municipal council at the town hall. An opportunity to see Mayor Jean-Paul Fournier at work, currently convalescing after knee surgery.

In a tense national context, we will closely monitor the behavior of elected officials from the left who did not appreciate the outbursts of the Mayor of Nîmes after the fires at the synagogue in La Grande-Motte. Jean-Paul Fournier had indicated that the LFI elected officials and their allies were in some way the indirect accomplices of this situation.

Will the Montpellier Court of Appeal, which is retrying the case, follow the prosecution's request for acquittal? ? If the clouds clear, Franck Proust could then fully launch himself into the municipal race.

The Associations Forum

The Associations Forum will take place in the city center on Saturday, September 7. Midi Libre – M. A.

350 associations will present their activities and try to attract more members this fall during the Forum dedicated to them on Saturday, September 7, all day in the city center, mainly on the Esplanade and the forecourt of the arenas. The demonstrations will convince the public looking for an idea for an activity to follow throughout the year.

Nîmes Métropole Jazz Festival
