Tennis: Arthur Cazaux will not resume competition until the end of February and will not play the Doha tournament as initially planned

While he had planned to resume at the ATP 250 tournament in Doha this weekend, Arthur Cazaux is skipping the route and will line up for the ATP 500 in Dubai which will begin during the last weekend of February.

After a prosperous start to the year, marked by a victory at the Nouméa Challenger, an adventure at the Australian Open ending in the round of 16 then an Open Sud de France which ;he left in the second round, Arthur Cazaux needed to cut, mentally and physically.

As he warned after his defeat against Felix Auger-Aliassime in three sets (5-7, 6-2, 6-7): & quot;I'm scheduled to take a break for two weeks where I won't be doing any tournaments. I have to take care of a few injuries that are lying around a bit".

A first in ATP 500

The Montpellier man therefore returned to Paris at the start of the week and was able to resume training with his trainer Stéphane Houet. Even if his pain in one foot is starting to be behind him, Cazaux was still a little short of resuming competition this weekend in Doha (ATP 250), as initially planned. 

Instead, the 81st in the world will line up for the Dubai tournament (ATP 500) which will begin on February 26 (hard surface), having to go through the qualifying box. This will also be a first for the Héraultais, who has never played a single match in the ATP 500, whether in qualifying or the final draw.
